Department Overview

In an era characterized by the increasing diversification of lifestyles and values, the challenges in marketing research are becoming ever more sophisticated and complex. To address these shifts and derive deeper, more fundamental insights, our mission is to leverage over 100 million big data points connected by Rakuten Group's common ID. We aim to provide new value across the entire customer marketing process through the composite utilization of this data.

Within the Rakuten Group, expectations are growing for new data businesses that capitalize on our unique and vast data assets. In December 2024, we executed an organizational restructuring, integrating Rakuten Insight, Inc., Rakuten Insight Global, Inc., and the Cho-Mini Job business. This move established a stronger synergy creation system for data utilization.

Under this new structure, we aim to further accelerate the application of AI technology. Our goal is to achieve automation and sophistication in data analysis, enable real-time insights, and enhance the quality of decision-making support. Ad & Media Solutions Section is a team dedicated to providing problem-solving marketing support to a diverse range of clients, primarily advertising agencies and media companies. We achieve this by leveraging marketing research, AI technology, and Rakuten's extensive data assets.

Position Details
This role involves leading the development of digital advertising effectiveness verification products and promoting alliances that our company is advancing.

You will have the opportunity to develop unique products, leveraging various data assets within the Rakuten Group, which are exclusive to our company.
This position also expects you to manage the product development team.

Key Responsibilities
Product/Business Development
- Exploring and researching business opportunities in collaboration with Rakuten's internal and external services.
- Formulating and driving the direction and project roadmap for new businesses.
- Project management tasks, including progress management and scope definition.
- Building digital advertising effectiveness measurement schemes in collaboration with major media companies.

Reporting to Management
- Preparing discussion materials and proposals for the management team.
*Specific tasks from the above will be assigned based on your prior career experience and aptitude.

What Makes This Role Rewarding
You will be engaged in developing products that currently do not exist in the market, by utilizing Rakuten's unique data assets (e.g., OMO - Online Merges with Offline).
Furthermore, you will have the chance to be involved in product development in collaboration with major operating companies, advertising agencies, and consulting firms, all based on our data assets.

Work Environment

Management within the Product Division
Examples include: Head of an organization of approximately 10 members (Manager)
Assistant to the Department Head for a team of approximately 20 members (Vice Department Manager), etc.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in digital advertising or digital marketing(3 years or more)
- Experience in project management(3 years or more)
- Communication skills
- Explanatory and negotiating skills to smoothly involve internal and external stakeholders

Desired Qualifications:

We are seeking individuals with a high level of project management skills and management experience. In particular, as we are driving data-driven marketing product development leveraging data and AI, we are looking for candidates who possess a deep understanding of and strong interest in data and AI.
