This is a rare opportunity to own the go-to-market motion for a product category that is still being defined. You will shape how the market understands what challenges AI engineering presents, why they matter, and why Progress is the right partner for teams serious about building AI at scale.

This role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, and the market. You'll partner daily with:

Product Management to influence roadmap direction and bring launches to market with sharp positioning.
Engineering for technical depth, early capability access, and credible demo development.
Sales for field enablement, competitive intelligence, and deal support.
Business Intelligence to measure what's working and double down.

In this role, you will:

Own the GTM Motion

Lead go-to-market strategy for our AI solutions from market sizing and segmentation to launch execution and expansion plays.
Define and refine positioning and messaging that resonates with AI engineering leaders: the people accountable for how their organizations build, deploy, and govern AI systems.
Build repeatable GTM programs that drive awareness, trial activation, and commercial pipeline in target segments.
Partner closely with product management to bring launches to market with clear narratives, strong enablement, and measurable revenue impact.

Create Content That Earns Trust

Develop technical content including architecture guides, use case playbooks, demo narratives, and competitive analyses.
Be a visible voice for Progress in the AI engineering community: write, speak, and demo with authority.
Translate complex product capabilities into clear, compelling stories for both technical buyers and business stakeholders.

Drive Market Intelligence

Continuously monitor the AI engineering tooling landscape and translate findings into actionable positioning guidance.
Develop deep understanding of how AI engineering leaders evaluate and buy tooling: their priorities, frustrations, and decision criteria.
Feed market insights back to the product team to influence roadmap direction, not just report on launches.

Enable the Field

Equip sales with the narratives, battlecards, and objection-handling frameworks they need to win in competitive deals.
Support customer engagement and product validation efforts by building relationships with early adopters and champions.
Define the metrics that matter and own them: developer activation, pipeline influence, competitive win rates, expansion revenue.

Amplify Team Productivity with AI

As someone deeply embedded in the AI engineering ecosystem, you'll bring hands-on perspective that helps the broader team build smarter AI workflows for content creation, research, and operational efficiency.

Your background:

8+ years of experience in product marketing or GTM strategy, with meaningful time focused on developer tools, AI/ML products, or technical infrastructure.
A track record of growing a product or category. You've helped something move from early traction to real commercial momentum.
Genuine technical fluency in the AI engineering space. You understand how teams build and deploy AI applications, and can hold a substantive conversation with the engineers and leaders doing it.
Exceptional writing across registers: from a deeply technical integration guide to a crisp, compelling market narrative.
Comfort owning outcomes, not just outputs. You think in pipeline, activation rates, and revenue.

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:

Experience at an AI infrastructure company, ML platform, developer tooling business, or foundation model provider.
A presence in the AI engineering community: technical writing, conference talks, open source involvement, or a network inside the LLM developer ecosystem.
Experience navigating both product-led and sales-assisted GTM motions.
Hands-on experience building with AI APIs or working on an AI-powered product.
