We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Senior Web Engineer to support our mission.

This role is based in San Francisco or in New York and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Team

The Community team at Patreon is building the core spaces where creators and fans interact in real time. We own Patreon Live, Chats, Comments, Reactions, Drops, and emerging collaboration features, the social layer that makes Patreon a place fans want to return to every day.

Our mission is to help fans feel connected, seen, and part of something, and to help creators lead vibrant communities that reflect their identity and values. We operate across iOS, Android, Web, and Backend, partnering closely with Product, Design, Data, and Trust & Safety to build experiences that are engaging, safe, and deeply meaningful within niche fandoms.

This is a fit-finding space — we move from hypothesis to shipped product quickly, with tight feedback loops between eng, product, and data.

About the Role

Own and deliver well-scoped full stack product feature milestones that help creators create content on Patreon.
Drive technical design of components that are scalable, well tested and are easy to maintain
Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers to deliver high quality features.
Champion innovative solutions that enhance the usability and engagement with discovery features

What you'll need

5+ years of experience in software development
Experience with React, next.js, Typescript or Javascript
Experience with Python or a similar language
Experience with SQL.
Solid communication skills with cross-functional team members
Eager to take on new challenges and expand skill set
Build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent professional experience

The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. This range may encompass multiple levels within the role’s job family. The final offer will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, competencies, and geographic location, aligning with the appropriate job level within Patreon’s leveling framework. For remote employees located outside CA and NY, salary may vary based on location and local market conditions.
