Cape is America’s privacy-first mobile carrier. Our mission is to be a force for good in global wireless. Cape was founded in 2022 by people who believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a luxury to be traded away. Our journey began when our founder recognized a critical vulnerability in our modern world: everyone relies on the same stagnant cellular infrastructure and legacy systems that track our every movement, monitor and profile our connections, and lose and sell our personal data.

Instead of accepting the status quo, we decided to fix it. National security professionals, journalists, parents, and everyone in between can stay connected and have privacy.

We didn’t just build a layer on top of old tech; we built America’s most private and secure mobile carrier from the ground up. By building our own network from scratch, we are able to design and build a suite of privacy and security features that no other carrier on the planet can offer.

Today, Cape provides our secure network to consumers, businesses, and government agencies alike. We closed our Series C in March 2026, and we are scaling rapidly, with the goal of giving people back control of their most personal information.

The Role

We are seeking a Network Operations Specialist to work on the rollout of new networks worldwide and ensure they operate at the highest standard once live. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our mission—helping the U.S. and its allies strengthen national security through resilient, cutting-edge telecom infrastructure.

You combine technical depth with operational leadership: able to dive into troubleshooting details, while also guiding teams through milestones, test cases, and process steps. Simply put, you are the glue that turns plans into successful, secure, and reliable network

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact

Develop and execute test cases for new functionality launches.
Configure devices and create repeatable runbooks to ensure smooth deployments.
Gather customer feedback, create and manage trouble tickets, escalate issues as needed, and dive into traces/logs to identify root causes—while keeping documentation and resolution plans up to date.
Define and document processes to ensure smooth operations, especially during launches and testing.
Lead launch operations planning and execution, including methods of procedure (MOPs), rollback strategies, maintenance windows, and delivery approvals.
Build and maintain critical systems and 3rd-party tools that automate network operations.
Develop anonymized dashboards for partner MNOs, ensuring they have visibility into usage on their networks.

Are you the candidate we are looking for? (Requirements for the role) You have:

3+ years of experience in cellular core network deployments.
Ability to analyze cellular system network trace data and packet captures, quickly identifying where issues should be routed.
Proven success operating as a flexible team player in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while driving complex initiatives to completion.
Experience drafting MOPs and executing maintenance windows.
Strong organizational skills and attention to details, including reviewing and managing detailed project plans.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving network outages.
Ability to review and interpret technical telco documentation with fluency in industry acronyms and terminology.
Familiarity with Agile practices and task management tools like Jira (preferred).
Experience working closely with telco infrastructure vendors (preferred).

We offer competitive compensation that is geo-adjusted based on your location, along with meaningful equity so you share in the value you help create. Salary range for this role in Washington, DC is $150,000-$200,000 depending on experience and interview performance.
