⭐️ The Account Executive (Transport) job

We’re expanding our Sales team in France and are looking for a ‘full-stack’ Sales person to engage with prospects and turn them into happy Alan customers. You will join a team that mostly focuses on companies from the Transport industry, interacting with everyone from HR executives to CEOs.

This segment encompasses road freight, warehousing, last-mile delivery, and express services. This segment represents approximately 1.2M employees in France across 220,000+ companies.

Passionate team: Our 5-person team is passionate about the sector we address, and the daily learnings from the field enhance this.
Diverse workforce: Primarily mobile workers (drivers, couriers) alongside warehouse and administrative staff, with a multicultural workforce across Europe and strong reliance on itinerant personnel constantly on the road;
Critical challenges: Severe driver shortage (cited as one of the industry's biggest issues), low margins (1 in 3 companies in difficulty), high turnover, and extremely demanding physical conditions leading to serious health and safety risks;
Company profiles: Market dominated by TPE/PME (33-36K companies in France), traditionally not very tech-savvy, spread throughout the country, with limited digitalization but gradual evolution toward digital transformation;
HR priorities: Attraction and retention in a highly competitive environment (work-life balance, reliable compensation, family-oriented culture, training), addressing alarming health statistics (1 in 5 workplace fatal incidents involves truck drivers, 68.7% overweight, double the rate of musculoskeletal issues, increased cardiovascular risks), and managing a mobile workforce with difficult emergency response capabilities;
Critical Business Impact: This sector faces unique challenges around safety & liability (30% of fatal accidents are road-related, high risk while driving), operational costs (higher absenteeism, insurance costs, need for backup drivers), workforce sustainability (reduced life expectancy, early retirement, difficulty attracting new talent), and regulatory compliance (health monitoring, ergonomic adaptations).

Our existing customers in this segment particularly value Alan's mobile app – essential for employees constantly on the road – and fast reimbursements that directly impact purchasing power, a number-one concern for these employees often working with lower or capped wages.

What will you do with us?

You’ll own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. In our Transport Sales team, the average sales cycle is 6 months, dealing with companies ranging from 30 to 300 employees, with an average ARR of 150K€.

At Alan, Account Executives drive deals and close strategic opportunities with prospects. We sometimes handle some customer relationships to ensure the best possible onboarding. You’ll educate prospects, provide inspiring product demos, and onboard key stakeholders, making the transition from prospect to customer seamless.

We expect you to understand and apply the Alan Smart & Soft selling method. This method ensures the prospect experience is an integral part of the overall Alan customer experience—making it pleasant and delightful for everyone. We expect you to be instructive to prospects (Smart), as well as to define the best personalized high-touch strategy that suits best each prospect (Soft).

You’ll also help us grow and improve as a company, challenging us to enhance our product(s), methods, and strategy, and getting involved in initiatives to expand our customer base.

⭐ Is it you we’re looking for?

You’ll be a great fit for the Transport Sales Team at Alan if you:

Have at least 4 years of experience managing the whole Sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. Prospection is a key part of the role;
Have full working proficiency in French (C2 and above) and an advanced level in English.
Are highly organized with exceptional follow-up skills;
Have empathy and are passionate about understanding and solving prospects' problems;
Can influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building;
Have a deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models;
Have a great attitude and ability to collaborate in a small team;
Are eager to learn fast and make an impact from day 1;
Are based in (or willing to relocate to) Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Lyon, Annecy, Nantes or Biarritz.
